Your-Maryland-Electrician has been a leader in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern VA electrician practice for over 15 years. We had a humble beginning and owe our existence to a young high school senior.

Michael Green had a strong interest in the electrical trade and found work as an apprentice right out of high school. In those days, an apprenticeship involved not only technical knowledge, but one worked with an electrician who was also a mentor and father figure.

Michael’s mentor, Syan Davids, was just that.  Syan was a leader in the community and provided an outlet for youths in the area to learn a trade and start a business. Syan not only taught the technical skills but he shared values that were instrumental in grooming young boys into men. Michael enjoyed tagging along with Syan on odd-jobs in the summers and he learnt the importance of service. Service to family, friends, and community.

With the experiences Michael had with Syan, he was more convinced than ever that he wanted to start an electrician firm with a single focus to provide outstanding service. Syan’s speeches on “integrity” and being “true to your word” instilled in Michael the virtues of having impeccable character and never resting on your laurels. Michael worked during the day and studied at night, passed his electrician exams, and got his license.

Flash to Fifteen years later and the company is going strong.

We grew from a one-man outfit to having more than 25 full-time licensed electricians on our team. Mike’s wife Liz went back to school to get her accounting degree after giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. Liz joined the business in 2004 and started making improvements like a dynamo! Mike focused on building the business as a 100% service-oriented provider, while Liz made sure that procedures were in place to make this a reality. She streamlined the scheduling process, improved our billing cycle, and put in place an after-service program that laid the framework for true life-long partnerships with our customers.

We grew rapidly while ensuring that our customers were happy. “Keep the customers smiling!” It was such a simple motto, and to this day we keep it at the center of everything we do.

We strongly believe that we are the best company out there to serve your needs. With our customer’s feedback we seek opportunities to improve and continue to strive for perfection. To this day, Mike speaks often of his days with Syan and what he taught him as a kid: Put your customers first and take pride in everything you do! These are the same lessons Mike hopes to pass on to his newborn son.
